Emptiness is the way things exist as opposed to the way they appear. All phenomena are like dreams and like illusions. For although they appear they do not truly exist. Understanding this we can reduce and eventually eradicate from our mind all anger, jealousy, and uncontrolled desires that are the real cause of all our problems.
